Trolls world tour is a 2020 musical / animation movie produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film, a sequel to the 2016 film Trolls, was directed by Walt Dohrn with co-direction by David P. Smith, produced by Gina Shay, and written by Jonathan Aibel, Glenn Berger, Elizabeth Tippet, Maya Forbes and Wallace Wolodarsky, from a story by Aibel and Berger.
Universal Pictures shifted the movie’s planned theatrical release to make it available on demand due to coronavirus pandemic. This beautifully produced anime would be an escape for kids especially in this covid-19 lock down forcing working class parents to stay at home with their children.
The plot of the movie centres on Poppy and Branch, sequel to the events of the first film, who discovered that there are six different troll tribes scattered over six different lands. Each tribe is also devoted to six different kinds of music — funk, country, techno, classical, pop and rock. When rockers Queen Barb and King Thrash set out to destroy the other music, Poppy and Branch embark on a daring mission to unite the trolls and save the diverse melodies from becoming extinct.
