According to JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, the number of registered candidates for the 2020 UTME rose by 464,287 compared with the 2019 figure of 1,272,284 candidates.
He said Imo state had the highest applications with 101,868 candidates, followed by Osun state with 88,655; Oyo state came third with 87,811 and Ogun followed in fourth with 81,349 candidates.
Others are Delta state with 81,108; Anambra with 77,253; Kaduna, 72,104; Kano, 70,276; Kogi, 70,150 and Benue state in tenth position with 68,916 registered candidates.
He said that 321 visually impaired candidates registered for the examination and that adequate arrangements had been provided to ensure their effective participation in the examination.
Oloyede assured candidates that necessary machinery has been put in place to ensure a hitch free CBT examination that would last for a week.
The JAMB boss however warned candidates to desist from seeking re-posting from exam centre assigned to them to another as there would be no rescheduling of examination.
