Fifty Shades of Grey is an American erotic romantic drama film released theatrically on February 13, 2015 ahead of Valentines day celebration. The movie was adapted from a 2011 novel of the same title by British author E. L. James.
The film directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson has taken the world by storm. It was an immediate box office success, earning more than $413 million on release.
It featured Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, a college graduate who begins a sadomasochistic relationship with young business magnate Christian Grey (acted by Jamie Dornan).
The so much talked about movie has received mixed reviews with those against it claiming promotes rape.
A few days ago, an accused rapist in Chicago, Mohammad Hossain, a 19-year-old bio-nuclear engineering student, claimed he was re-enacting a scene from 50 Shades of Grey.
